Moving Day!
The moving began on Friday, April 3rd with just John, me, Josh, and Chels. Thank God Josh and Chels were here to help because John had a strained Achilles tendon! We worked until 10pm and then went to be in anticipation for the "big stuff" on Saturday.
At 730am Alex and Leash, Brent, Cassandra and Amanda, Josh, Brad, Joe, and Little A showed up at the apartment to start hauling. At the last minute we decided to get a truck but the only thing they had left was a 26-foot Uhaul which we gladly reserved! We finished moving everything from the apartment to the house by 10am. We couldn't have been luckier to have so much early morning help!
The second wave of the day brought PopPop, Chaise, Grandma, Jenny, and Mike who helped us unpack tons and get Maxi's room totally ready for him to sleep that night. Jenny walked in the door and said "You know things are really bad when I'm overwhelmed and I'm overwhelmed." But by 8pm we had things in a "livable" condition.
Finally, Kristina and Vera brought Maxi back to his new home and got to see round 1 of the unpacking!
That Sunday John and I worked extremely hard to continue unpacking and settling in. We just don't like feeling unsettled!
Just about 2 weeks later, we're happily settled even though there is plenty of decorating left to do!

Moving and Stuff
So we've been under contract on one house or another since December 08. Not lying.
We are in love with the Downtown area and are determined to put down some roots here. Two of the houses we've withdrawn from had major (and I mean 20K plus) lead paint issues.
The house we are under contract on now (closing March 31st knock-knock) is absolutely gorgeous. It's been completely gutted and remodeled so no possibility of lead paint or asbestos which is a huge relief for us. The final step is the appraisal. As long as all comes back fine, it's a go!
And what a great story we have to tell about how we got the house! Let's just say that I have a fantastic husband who is willing to really put himself out there in order to make his family happy. If it weren't for John (and Cassandra Bailey, our awesome real estate agent) we might not be moving into our DREAM house.
We'll keep you posted!
Check out the slideshow - more pics to come!
